John has served in many roles during his construction career, starting as an intern while attending Bradley University, working as a Project Manager overseeing very complex and difficult construction projects throughout the Midwest, establishing and growing a regional construction division and working his way up to the position of President of a ENR Top 400 contractor.
In his role as President of Built United, John is responsible for providing the leadership and vision for the company as well as developing and implementing the strategic plan that guides the overall direction of the company. He is responsible for creating and building a company culture that focuses on fulfilling the mission of the company. He is also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with industry associations and community organizations and being a leader in promoting diversity in everything we do.
John's family originates from Torreon, Coahuila Mexico.

Val’s experience in the construction industry is rather unique as he has served in almost every aspect of construction. His introduction into the industry started as a field carpenter performing every aspect of commercial construction from the building footing to the building roof. From there, he brought his field experience to the office budgeting, estimating, and managing projects all across Central Illinois.
At Built United, Val is not only responsible for the management of our projects and personnel, but he is also responsible for the development of our team. Val has a passion for the introduction and growth of minorities, females, and underrepresented persons into the building trades. His vision is that a building trade is not just a job, but a career that can provide a specialized skillset, a livable wage, and a lifestyle change not only for today, but for generations to come.
Val’s family originates from Nuevo Leon and Jalisco, Mexico.
